The many types of cancer

Cancer is an unregulated growth of cells. There are many different kinds of cancer. Sometimes cancers are classified by where they take place: lung cancer is cancer in the lungs, skin cancer is cancer of the skin, bone cancer is cancer of the bone, etc.

It seems that there are a lot of different causes of cancer. One of the most effective ways to develop cancer is by irritation. For example, smoking is the premier cause of lung cancer, cancer of the esophagus, breast cancer, and increases almost all other kinds of cancer. This is because tobacco smoke is so irritating.

Miners who dig coal get black lungs from the coal dust. Many of them develop different kinds of lung cancer.

Years ago, people put asbestos in schools and homes because asbestos is a fire retardant. Today we are trying to take all of it out because asbestos has been found to be a major cause of certain types of cancer.

Some of the additives to gasoline are found to cause cancer. And apparently there is a virus that can cause cancer of the cervix in women.

There are a lot of different kinds of cancer, and none of them are good.

Stay away from cancer.
